POPAI Silver Award won by Telefonica O2 Ireland

Telefonica O2 Ireland wins prestigious POPAI Silver Award, in recognition for its in-store digital signage network, which was developed and installed by Mood Media Corporation. (TSX:MM/ LSE AIM:MM)

The award, in the ‘Digital Media in a Retail Network’ category, was achieved for completely reinventing Telefonica O2’s in-store media solutions in 74 Irish outlets through sophisticated visual content and music channels.

Vanessa Warren, SVP of Corporate Marketing for Mood Media Corporation, said: “We are proud to accept this acknowledgement of our innovative work in in-store media, which can integrate audio and visual solutions to enhance a company’s brand. Our work with Telefonica O2 is a fine example of this, which we hope to replicate for many more great brands in future.”

The purpose of the new digital media and music network was to replace A1-size posters in-O2 stores and facilitate the company’s communication with customers in a fresh, modern, hi-tech way using unique ‘point-of-purchase’ solutions.

The in-store audio and visual channels installed by Mood Media Corporation throughout 2009 do this by changing to suit O2’s shifting customer demographic throughout the day, at all times precisely reflecting the company’s contemporary, slick brand image.

The POPAI Awards, now in their fourth year, are the only initiative of their kind in the UK and Ireland and are dedicated to rewarding the most innovative companies in the retail point-of-purchase industry.

POPAI – which stands for Point of Purchase Advertising International - is an international trade association for companies involved in point-of-purchase and retail communications, representing an industry worth over £1bn per annum.
